On February 25, 2020, the KCN hosted the inaugural CASA Day at the Capitol in Frankfort, Kentucky. The KCN was joined by more than 100 participants from local CASA programs - volunteers, staff, and board members - to meet with more than 40 legislators to speak about CASA advocacy and the impact their work makes in the lives of abused and neglected children in Kentucky.
In addition to the scheduled meetings, several officials and legislators addressed the group to thank them for their service, including First Lady Britainy Beshear, Attorney General Daniel Cameron, Auditor Mike Harmon, Senator Morgan McGarvey, Speaker Pro Tem David Meade, Representative Joni Jenkins, Representative Kim Moser, and Representative Jason Nemes. -

CASA would like to wish Judge David Flatt a happy retirement!! Judge Flatt brought CASA to Carter, County a couple of years ago and Elliott and Morgan Counties a few months ago. He was always so supportive of the program and recognized the value it brings to the children involved in the District/Family Court. Thanks for all you have done and best wishes, Judge!
